Free Medicine Delivery Program
Program Overview
In collaboration with Melian Software Company LTD, Melian Foundation is leading the development of a medicine home delivery system known as the Umoja Pharmacy. This initiative ensures patients—both insured and uninsured—can access essential medications affordably, conveniently, and reliably.
Program Goals
> Increase availability of essential medications such as those for Malaria, HIV, and TB.
> Provide affordable options for uninsured and low-income patients.
> Eliminate barriers to access by delivering medications directly to homes and communities.
Delivery Model
> The service operates using a B2C (Business-to-Consumer) model, allowing individuals to order and receive essential medicines without visiting hospitals or pharmacies. This reduces missed treatments and supports long-term disease management.
Impact and Recognition
> Umoja Pharmacy is among the leading B2C programs in East Africa, helping bridge service delivery gaps and improve health outcomes in underserved communities.
