Gender and Youth Program

Melian Foundation’s Gender and Youth Program is committed to leaving no one behind. The initiative supports the engagement of adolescents and youth—including those with disabilities—in national and community development programs. It promotes inclusion, safety, education, health access, and leadership for young people to thrive.

Inclusive Participation

The program ensures youth involvement in designing and implementing development strategies. It strengthens their role in decision-making processes at both community and national levels, empowering them to drive change in their environments.

Safety & Expression

Melian Foundation advocates for safe spaces where youth—particularly girls and adolescents—can freely express themselves and access the resources and opportunities needed to build meaningful lives.

Youth with Disabilities (YWDs)

Recognizing the marginalization of youth with disabilities, the program promotes their active inclusion through access to services, platforms to share their voices, and involvement in advocacy, education, and leadership programs.

Strategic Partnerships

In partnership with key ministries—Ministry of Health, Ministry of Community Development, PORALG, and Ministry of Water—the program facilitates youth access to leadership development, healthcare, economic empowerment, and advocacy channels.
