Maternal and Infant Mortality Reduction Initiative
Initiative Overview
Melian Foundation is working in close support of government efforts to reduce maternal and neonatal deaths in underserved communities. Through the donation of 300 safe birth kits, the foundation aims to improve delivery conditions and outcomes for vulnerable mothers and newborns across Tanzania.
Korogwe District, Tanga Region
> Safe birth kits were donated to health facilities in Korogwe, enabling underprivileged mothers to access critical delivery supplies and reduce risks during childbirth.
Magu District, Mwanza Region
> During International Women’s Day, Melian Foundation extended its support to Magu by donating safe birth kits. The effort was aimed at ensuring no mother is left behind, especially in remote areas.
Program Impact
> These interventions align with Tanzania's national health objectives and Sustainable Development Goal 3, which targets a significant reduction in maternal and neonatal mortality by 2030.
