Current estimates indicate that Tanzania experiences approximately 44,000–50,000 neonatal deaths each year, the majority occurring during labor, at birth, or within the first days of life (UNICEF, 2023). Among the causes are lack of awareness, knowledge and skills to identify risks/danger and how to prevent them. Being able to reach 75,000+ pregnant women is an opportunity to serve the 44,000 - 50,000 at risk mothers and their new born. The program is designed to provide pre and post natal education to expectant mothers, enabling them to access key information and knowledge for their own well being during pregnancy as well as the safety and well being of the new born. This aim to reduce pregnancy related risks, prevent birth complications and ensuring the well being of the new born.
